What is Meaning-first translation approach
How Rask translates with the context of your full script, fits each line to its timing and voices it with a new speech model.
Meaning-first is Rask's translation and dubbing engine. It translates with the context of your full project script, fits each line to its timing and voices it with a new speech model.
How it works
- Context of the full script. Rask translates each line with the whole project text in mind, so names, terms and tone stay consistent.
- Timing. Rask adapts the phrasing and placement of each line to the length of the original segment. Speech can extend into the neighbouring pause by up to 0.5 seconds, and the final track is matched to the video length while keeping a natural pace.
- New voice model. Voiceovers come with clearer accents, more natural emotion and a voice that stays stable from the first line to the last.
Who can use it
Meaning-first is available for projects on the current Creator, Creator Pro and Business plans and for selected Enterprise accounts. In a Teamspace, access follows the owner's subscription.
How to use it
Meaning-first works automatically. Create a project as usual and Rask selects the engine for you. New projects use Meaning-first translation when they have no translation dictionary, custom translation prompt or uploaded SRT. Projects with a dictionary or prompt use the standard translation, which applies your terms, and can still get the new voice model on eligible plans. Review the translation as usual and listen to the result at 1×. When you edit the text, Rask voices your wording as written.
Existing projects
Files you exported earlier stay unchanged. A full re-dub moves an eligible project to the new voiceover, while its existing translation stays as it is. Redubbing a single segment keeps the project on its current engine.
